On the effects of mass.

Mar 23, 2011 17:53

I'm doing this exercise again, but this time I'm giving you some advance notice: these are my Mass Effect characters. Refrain from asking about actual Mass Effect events (especially as I haven't played ME2 through yet and do not want to be hit with spoilers), but feel free to tailor your questions to your knowledge of the ME universe in general ( ( Read more... )

It is of the vein that you are to interview his characters listed. Have you played Mass Effect?

Alas, I have not. My only current-generation system is a Wii.

Numbers of questions correspond to the character's number.

1. How is the love life goin' for ya?
2. If you were emperor of the entire galaxy, what changes would you make to the way things are run?
3. What would you name your ship if you had your choice?
4. How far do you think one must go to right an evil in the world?

Dara: *ahem* I don't see how that's your business, but if you must know, we're doing fine.

Cole: The ones who accomplish should be the ones who lead, and they should continue to do their leading from the front. That goes for his imperial majesty me, too. Also, every person and every nation will get their one chance free, then if they screw up they have to earn the right to a second. I am a harsh but fair ruler that way.

Brit: The Outmost.

Zaku: The ends of the galaxy and back, that's how far! Anything less is just giving up.

I have yet to play even ME1, although I definitely should, so I'm not familiar with Spectres or the like... just gonna plow on with random stuff!

What is the origin of 3's name? Short for a real name, or is it a nickname?

2 is dying of an incurable medical condition, and is drafting a will. Are 1, 3, and 4 mentioned? If so, how?

4 is dying of an incurable medical condition which doesn't incapacitate one at all until the last 5 minutes or so. Doctors give him a day to live. What does he do?

1, through some fluke of the nature of fictionality itself, finds herself deposited on real Earth, circa these modern days we live in. Finding no hint of a way back, she resigns herself to the notion that she may have to live here permanently. What does she do for work? Hobbies? Where does she settle (either type of tenement, or city, or both?)

Favorite and least favorite alien race?

Dara: All races have their good and bad qualities. To say one is "good" or "bad" is racist talk.

Cole: I'll say elcor for favorite, just because I've never met a rude one. Or one that makes a habit of telling humans how we're a "young, inexperienced race that has so much to learn." Least favorite is a no-brainer: batarans. (Geth aren't a race.)

Brit: Favorite is krogans, honestly. They got a collective bad draw in life, then were used and dropped by a bunch of assholes. Oh how I can relate. Least favorite are the volus, bunch of scheming little snotballs.

Zaku: Asari are best. Friendly, social, and gorgeous. I'm with Cole on the batarans for least favorite; is there such thing as a good bataran? I've never met one.

What training has each one undergone (class) and how does it reflect on their personality?

Dara [Soldier] had no biotic skill and couldn't get her head around computers, but through her parent's encouragement she trained physically, and when she signed up, the Alliance was happy to keep her in shape. She sees things as ideals and hates complicated decisions. Also, seeing her opponents face-to-face on the front lines, as well as experiencing frequent losses on her own side, has given her an aversion to taking the violent approach ( ... )

I will ask some of the questions that often get asked in these things.

What are all their D&D alignments?

What actor/actress would you cast to play each character?

Not sure if you're familiar with Xanth or not, but if so -- what question would each of them ask the Good Magician Humfrey, and what year's service would he demand in return?

What are all their D&D alignments?

Running this question has reminded me how much the lawful-chaotic spectrum can depend on just what law you've gotten to deal with, and what your place is in it.

Dara: Lawful Good, plain and simple.
Cole: Neutral Good. If the Alliance were the only authority he'd probably be Lawful; if the Council were the only authority he might well have gone Chaotic. Having both has made him cynical but not TOO cynical about the law.
Brit: Neutral Evil, more likely to lean Lawful than Chaotic but only out of pragmatism.
Zaku: He'd say he's Chaotic Good but when you get down to it he's Chaotic Neutral; doing good just happens to be a good way to feed his ego.

What actor/actress would you cast to play each character?

Dara: Dichen Lachman (dyed to brunette).
Cole: Rocky Carroll is a little old for the role but I think he can manage it.
Brit: I haven't actually created her in game just yet, so I don't have a strong mental picture of her appearance. But probably a very typecast Katee Sackhoff.
Zaku: James Kyson Lee. ( ... )

Nah, if she's one of the stupid alignments, she's Stupid Good.
