It's probably not a good sign when your first post since getting a new job is talking about having quit it.

Nevertheless, I feel I made the right decision. Ten to thirteen hour shifts every day in the summer sun are not conducive to getting anything else done. And I'm a college student. I have to multitask.

Damn, I'm glad you got out of there when you did. Those people sound crazy, and of course the job was already dangerous to begin with... I hope you find a better job soon and your uncle doesn't give you a hard time. :(
