Eh, I moved too far inland. I wish i wasn't so landlocked.
Ben's family though has a sailboat and they had to go down to the area being hit and anchor their boat and a friends boat...so now we're just hoping the boats are doing ok...
Where I use to live there have been lots of trees down and one gas station thingie fee. School was out but most of my friends moved too.
I think Hurricanes are stalking my other friend John because he had just moved to NOLA when Katrina hit and he had just gotten back to NC a few days ago. (He's more in the Mountain area where I grew up now though.)
the wedding plans... well, we went through the wedding stages. you know denial, anger, depression. hahah. it was looking like 20k+ for the kind of wedding we wanted so we said 'fuck it'. we're going to st. lucia in the caribbean to get married and combining the wedding and honeymoon. our parents did want to be involved so they're coming for a couple days. then when we return we're going to have a gathering at a park with friends, booze, and food. oh, and the date we're getting married is cinco de mayo! :)

Lol, yeah weddings are expensive. Ben and I have been talking about it a little lately. I am a compulsive planner, so I have it all laid out in my mind. And so far its at about 17k and that doesn't include flowers, booze or the honeymoon. We did find a cool place that for under 5k location only (not food or nothing) you can have whole place for the weekend and room around 25 people, have the wedding and reception there. But we have to look into it further because I want an October (more specifically a Halloween wedding) and it looks like they may only have garden weddings and it would be too cold for that.
My mom refuses to fly so the islands are out...plus they're all poor, so we would prolly have to pay for that too...although you never know.
It looks like, if it happens it will in like 2008, or 2009 or 2010...I think thats when halloween falls on weekends next.
