Thank you so much for writing for me!
I am:
into: Worldbuilding, settings, adventures, neat ideas, engagement with canon, complication of canon (including making antagonists sympathetic).
not-so-into: Darkness for darkness's sake, realistic violence (including sexual violence)
Empire - Dar Williams (Song)
"Now I'm right, yeah you said I'm right, there's nothing that can harm me / 'cause the sun never sets on my dungeon or my army"
This song is clearly fictional, but based on very valid criticisms of very real imperial powers. It would be great to see a story about this empire's rise or its fall.
Birdhouse In Your Soul - They Might Be Giants (Music Video)
“I have a secret to tell”
What on Earth (or elsewhere) is going on in this video? I would love to see any sort of narrative about these people and their coordinated clothes and actions.
She Blinded Me With Science - Thomas Dolby (Song)
“I can hear machinery”
Who is this mysterious woman? Why does she smell of chemicals? How does she feel about the singer? About herself?
Last Name - Carrie Underwood (Song)
"This ring on my left hand just appeared out of nowhere"
It would be neat to see some more of this story. How does the protagonist deal with the situation? Is the situation even more complicated than it seems from the song? Did either of them have reasons beyond drunken impulsiveness for getting married in Vegas in the wee hours of the morning?
Pictures Of Matchstick Men - Camper Van Beethoven (Song)
"You're in the sky, you're with the sky"
What's happening in this song? Who are the matchstick men? What accounts for "your" presence everywhere? Is it strong emotion, or something stranger?
Tuesday's Dead - Cat Stevens (Song)
"I'm only the underline of the word"
What does it mean for Tuesday to be dead? Is there a specific allegorical or mythical background for the song's philosophizing? How literal is the last verse?
