There are four works in the fandom "Tay Bridge Disaster" now. This is the longest and most heartfelt. The other ones are funny, but this is the one that will make you feel.

An alternate history, where science unfolds on its predictable lines, and, looking back, we see Leandra da Valmadrera and her works as the starting point for the flourishing society we have now.
Set in a modern-day AU where the VM is the foundational text of modern science. Amazing worldbuilding.
