So yesterday, I went on yet another Emergency Response (ER) for TCEQ. This one was in Point Blank or close to it anyway. Which is fine, it's just 2 hours away... it was about 2 or 3 when we (I'm still training on ER) left... the ER coordinator drives like a bat out of hell and usually multi tasks while driving. . . and the driving suffers...so it ( Read more... ) -

Today was an official day, an official day of what you ask, well, I preformed a major inspection on a natural gas plant, and then had an emergency response to a "spill" of an unknown substance. . . unknown but not immediately toxic, but defiantly unknown. But the good news is that the spill is very small and should be cleaned up shortly. . . so ( Read more... ) -
Okay a short but better update
So I think I've told everyone that I'm working for Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) [by the way remember that acronym because it'll get mentioned a bunch more now] and most of my life for the past three almost four now months has consisted of me working there, getting settled in the different kind of world that is Southeast Texas. So for those I haven't told I now have a job with The TCEQ. They called me and made the offer on the 2nd of may and I of course accepted, and I start on the 22nd of May. This means I'm moving to Beaumont soon. I'm very excited about this as this is a job that'll give me a good start to be a professional tree hugger -

is it bad?
So is it bad when driving ten+ hours (college station to Memphis and then days later Memphis to college station) barely fazes me at all? I jokeingly told me mum that I had been preparing for this trip by taking 3 nine hour days worth of driving the bus, little did I know how true I spoke.
