You've really captured Buffy's weariness so well. I feel tired just after reading this. lol But at the same time, it's definitely different from S6. Her co-workers in the coffee shop felt very real too. I loved the comparison of Leanne to Cordelia...that felt like it explained everything.

Thank you! Yep, I think this is how S6 could have gone in a better world- nothing particularly fantastic, just an annoying job in the service industry where you aren't required to wear a hat with a cow and get eaten by the kindly old lady customer. ;)

(This is my first, raw reaction) :)

Okay, I try to concentrate. The final paragraphs, the scene betweel Buffy and Spike is subliminally erotic; your "less is more" approach is perfect.

I love the atmosphere of the coffee shop, the characters of Leanne and Tina,; I love how effortlessly you pass from the past to the present; the flow of the story is seamless.

I'm very intrigued about Simone's reappearance; looks like you have a lot of plotty goodness in store.

Favorite line:
“You’d look good in a burlap sack."

Thank you! Buffy and Spike are difficult to keep apart, even in the "harmless" chapters. ;) We'll be seeing some more of Simone, though she's really just a means to an end in this fic...but more on that in a week or two. ;)
