 First of all, ALL THE AWARDS to redreh_esila , who is basically the reason why this chapter exists in its current form and not the disaster it was beforehand. Oh, and she's also the reason for the early update, because her Embers comics are doing things to my heart I can't explain and keeping me writing, as are all your wonderful reviews! Thank you! :)

Thank you! I've been trying to keep Orkanel subtle but suspicious all story, the one you wouldn't suspect but it would make sense once he was unveiled, so I'm glad to hear that it worked! ;) I tend to write faster near the end of a fic, so updates should be pretty quick until it's over. :)

So, Orkanel is the Big Bad (and here i feared that it is Willow), a disgruntled warlock who lost his power in the big shut-down, i suppose.

Oh Buffy: You always choose these moments to confess! (Well, quite naturally, of course. So much bottled up inside, only great pressure forces it out.)

Also: Big with the funny, you are in this one. :) Buffy kicking in the door, the faint irony in the "love declaration scene" (which of course sends mixed signals all the way - Spike should listen to the moments just before: We’re a package deal.)

This story is so full of suspense, character moments, sweet silent declarations, humour - i will read it again when my summer vacation rolls around just to give a "proper" review: ATM i'm just a mess (in the most positive way!) after reading each chapter and unable to formulate all it's greatness in the right way. :)

Yep, i's Orkanel! I'd thought about using someone familiar (despite the man that we'd already seen in #40), but I think last season did that a little too effectively. :D

I'm glad that you liked it! The original chapter looked nothing like this one- particularly the love declaration scene, which was too easy for those two, and so instead we've got the mixed signals and the messy romance that is this whole fic. ;)

Gah! OMG! Seriously scary stuff. Love the mix of emotions, battle, and now we have betrayal and more scary stuff. This is a really well-crafted and exciting story. I can't wait for the next chapter. (No, seriously. I don't want to wait. Where is it?) *G*

Oh, Buffy, why can't you say these three magic words in another situation?! The scene of their kiss is so beautiful - but Buffy won't be Buffy if she doesn't spoil everything with rash words.

That's our Buffy. :/ She's so caught up in hiding from emotional upheaval that only when she's out of time does she finally find the right words...and without reciprocation, she's just as insecure as ever. But we're getting there! :)
