hmnmm... this exercise lark may be harder than I thought

Jan 06, 2008 21:01

I bought a skipping rope a while ago with the intention of doing a bit of aerobic exercise at home - skipping's easy thought I.

Well, I've just managed a grand total of 2 minutes before I had to stop and BREATHE!!!

2 minutes is better than I did last time I tried skipping ...I stopped after about 30 seconds when I realise I need to buy a better bra! lol!!

Keep up the good work, you know it will get easier x

Like the others said that isn't all that bad you know. Skipping is amazingly great/difficult which is why boxers do it ;o)

Without being rude how much exercise (especially aerobic) do you usually get? Only reason for asking is that a lot of people make the mistake of jumping in very fast and getting disappointed if it is 'harder' that expected.

Even just walking a lot more than normal and starting of with that before skipping could help.

... then again you know your body/fitness better than anyone :o)

Skipping's *hard*! Ten minutes skipping is considered quite a good workout, so 2 minutes on your first attempt sounds reasonable (and is about what I managed the first time I did it.)

It's worth persevering though because it's so convenient - you don't have to worry about plotting routes, or buying expensive equipment, or (as you've realised!) putting aside lots of time to see a benefit.

even 2 mins gave me half a point back with weightwatchers which made me feel better lol

(however, haven't got to the end of the first week of WW yet!)
