This morning I made a color copy of my passport at Kinkos for a tv game show thing a friend and I are trying out for... and when the Kinkos guy spotted my copy he came over and said he was supposed to call the cops b/c I was creating a false ID card

A lot of visas to foreign countries require copies of passports... unless he meant he was going to contact HOMELAND SECURITY.

They would show up for something like that. But a beat cop? doubt it.

If you could just color copy your passport to make a fake ID it would totally negate the point of a passport in the first place.

Oh please. Every time you get a new job your employer must make a photocopy of your ID and SS card. Hell, in CA, used bookstores copy your ID when you sell books.

true but COLOR copies of any state/gov't ID are illegal. It may sound funny, but to workers at Kinkos(I've done my time) we could get in serious trouble for that(huge fines, etc). It can be used to make fake IDs.

the film screens in new orleans on feb 15. im hoping it'll get a wider release or a national tv screening... will keep you posted. no plans as of now to sell it on DVD anytime soon but maybe?
