Early morning meanderings : cover tunes and cello rockstars

I was so tired last night that I went to bed around 11 (which is normal, but I'd been up till 3 AM the night before). Trying to sleep in, I still managed to wake up around 7:30 AM this morning. I've been sitting out here in my parent's camping trailer browsing YouTube for concert videos and other music.

Ooooh, yes! Those guys are called, if my memory serves, Mello M, and they're badass. Mmm, latvian cello rock! :)

I know; believe it or not, I first heard about them from another YouTube posting of the exact same video, except with more details. Ah, YouTube, epicenter of the radioactive decay of information...

So I checked out Zoe Keating's website and found she'll be touring with Amanda Palmer (singer/pianist of the Dresden Dolls).

Hah, partly because her sister works for the Dresden Dolls. At least she's local to San Francisco, so she'll probably be touring the west coast again.

She's been on the US tour, too - we caught her on the Seattle leg.

Her intent is to keep touring for a while, so keep an eye out for more shows; Zoe's set was amazing, and then her work in Amanda's part of the set was incredible in a different sort of way; there's a very nice synergy between the bands on that tour.
