I may be driving myself nuts by reading news and political blogs constantly, but I can't help it.
I keep coming across awful things like this headline - Bush fan to girlfriend: "VOTE FOR KERRY AND I'LL STAB YOU!"
As well as scary headlines, I've been seeing a plethora of scary pictures of Dubya. This one isn't really scary as much as.. I'll say.. appropriate. Click the image to get the video. (It's not really a big issue, just kinda funny. What an outstandingly moral guy!)
Also, wonko showed toast and toast introduced me to....
God Hates Fags! I don't really recommend the site because it's just absolutely depressing to realize that there are people like this in the world, but there it is anyway. It's owned by a Baptist church in Kansas, and they also run
God Hates America. I really want to believe that it's a joke. It's just so absolutely radical and hateful. They went to Matthew Shepherd's funeral with signs that said things like "No Room In Heaven For Fags" and other atrocious slogans. They even went so far as to make a little animated gif of his head engulfed in flames.
karma, people. karma.
thankfully, there are also beautiful things on the internets. Like this NYC photoblog,
rion.nu. We're planning on going up to NYC and then upstate New York to visit Toast's parents next year, so seeing pictures of the city is exciting. I've never been, but I feel like I need to be there. For art, for design, for music, for basically the best of everything. Running around in Paris and riding the Metro was so much fun. I want to be in a place with a subway. I want to walk all over the city every day and see thousands of people. I don't think I could ever survive living in a tiny town somewhere out in the middle of nowhere.
also, there's
Skwak Colors, a GORGEOUS site with badass illustrations. The colors make me so happy.
