Interesting NPR segment on the Somali pirates, Behind The Business Plan Of Pirates Inc.. but the the most gobsmacking part for me was towards the end (scroll down to last section of transcript) where it describes how the pirates had to fill in timesheets while on the job,

There's probably a book somewhere about the contributions to labour relations best practice made by pirate enterprises. Apparently in the seventeenth century they had pensions and everything. And of course they were pioneers in employee Profit Sharing schemes.
