Oh yeah:
A few weeks ago I proved to myself that, if you have gear shifters mounted in the old style on the downtube, it is not only possible but in fact not very hard to shift gears with your feet. While riding hands free. Drunk.

Try it.
(This is next to impossible with handlebar-mounted shifters, believe me.)
