I'm assuming nothing. Your resignation coming when it did implies that something necessitated your departure from your post right then. I don't think that it was necessarily something emotional.

Whatever it was, how do we know that it is taken care of such that you will be able to serve your entire term this time around, should you be elected?

I can only ask you, sir, how do we know when one of us might be taken from this very City at any moment? We don't, and that's the very fear we can do without. I left the Wardenship in good hands.
