How in the world can any copy-editor (even an inexperienced one) miss ninety spelling and grammar errors?

Mind you, I'm currently reviewing a book that has close to that many formatting errors. I'm hoping that since mine is an Advanced Readers Copy those will all be fixed in the final edition. It'll be interesting to check.

Actually, I think this shows (perhaps until now), that they don't "take a lot of pride in the quality of our copy editing". I wonder if this free publicity will make up for the added costs?
