I looked like someone I used to know.

There are certain moments in early spring that get to me. I mean, spring gets to everybody; it's the reason why we have the concept of spring fever in the first place ( Read more... )

ps in german "nostalgia" can be "die Sehnsucht nach Vergangenem". "yearning for the past".

That seems much worthier of how I feel. Though I am also giving some thought to downshifting into good old Trunkenheit.

You know, I like to think I'm getting to know you well enough that I can tell the difference. Which is awesome! I also owe you some commentary on Andrew McMahon, which when you described him I thought HE IS SINGING TO ME PERSONALLY and then I promptly did nothing about it at all. At any rate, it will get me to stop listening to this Wilco song for a while.

My days like this aren't seasonal at all. They seem to be more sensory than anything else. I have them a lot with you, for example. We'll be sitting at a table in a restaurant and a song from our youth will play, and we'll recognize it at the same time and smile at each other, and I'm thinking we understand at that moment that we're at the same time us at thirty-whatever and us at nineteen. Maybe we aren't both thinking it, but is makes me happy to think that we're in sync like this.

Those are always good moments. And you are lovely.

I really appreciate your saying this.

I've been trying to be a little less self-conscious about writing in a public forum, but it is hard to shake the feeling that everything I say is blah blah boringcakes. It's funny because I came here because of fandom, but everyone on my friendslist is just so fascinating beyond their fandom interest. I wish everyone wrote more. THAT INCLUDES YOU, though it has been very nice to see you hanging around more lately. With the adorable photos and all.
