My special kryptonite as a moviegoer are dead parents and cancer. This is certainly because, in the space of five fairly recent years, I had cancer, got cured, immediately lost my father, and then, more slowly, lost my mother, too. oh yeah i meant to comment on this. i read it at the time and it made me all angsty, then i made fitz sit there and listen while i read some to her, because i was at her place at the time.

It has since been pointed out to me that Maya Rudolph, who plays the pregnant girlfriend, also lost her mother at a very young age--Minnie Riperton, the one who sang that awesome song "Loving You"? So it's everybody's grief, really.

Hello! Life is okay! I had a phone interview for a fulltime job today that went really well! And then my employer who laid me off in April inquired about whether I'd like to do some freelance work for them (my first reaction was to start singing "Suck it, former employer, suck it!" while dancing round flipping them off with both hands, but then I remembered that I like money, and I was a little more coy.

How is your life? I wanted to offer suggestions of where you can go in Japan, except that you already had anything I could come up with. 18 months later, what I remember best are the vending machines, the convenience stores, and the trains.

Oh awesome. I suck at phone interviews. I always end up making some sort of dumb joke or something, or I like, panic and say something stupid ( ... )
