This evening, I had cause to visit my first HP-era livejournal and came upon this sentence, describing my ideal fanfiction:

(For me, it's baseball, fisticuffs, protestations of heterosexuality, and menacing handjobs in inconvenient locations.)

Five or more years have passed since I wrote that, but I stand by it today. Thank you God for candle_beck.

You're going to XX Merge, aren't you? I was living in Durham the summer of the fifth anniversary show, I feel ridiculously old now.

i'm not, actually; five-day passes sold out within the first half-hour they were on sale, and individual show tickets disappeared at the same speed. guess who has two thumbs and no access to the internets at work? yeah, it was awesome. eric bachmann is playing a solo show for ten bucks at the duke gardens wednesday evening though, and i might go to that.

I'm really sorry! If it's any consolation, I missed #5 by about a week, and maybe that just means both of us are pathetic creatures with no joy in our lives.

I just saw HBP!!!!! I have never been that impressed with any of the acting in the HP series, and I can't believe I hadn't noticed before but: Rupert Grint nails it.
