I remember some folks telling me to not get an afro before I got paid to get my hair cut last year (L'Oreal paid me $500!! That's right, mother fuckers! Ha ha ha!!). Now I'm getting people who are telling me that I should not under any circumstances get dreads. When some people talk about me wanting dreads it's as if they want to protect me from ( Read more... )

Thanks. I will get them eventually. Now I have to decide whether or not I want to get them with extensions from a salon until I don't need them anymore or just do it naturally and be patient. Most likely I'll just do it naturally because I hate salons. I want them to go to my waist.

I had a college professor a couple of years ago with dreads down to his ass and he was stylin'. They never looked nasty or matted and all the ladies I knew assured me that this guy was sex on wheels. Most of the people I see around here with fucked up dreads are the gross little white punk rock kids in my neighborhood, but those motherfuckers would have nasty hair no matter what style it was in.
Get the dreads. They will be awesome. I'm pissed that I never got cornrows while my hair was long enough to really do it up right. I would have looked GREAT walking in to work like that.

Dreadlocks are sexy as hell to me. I wouldn't blame the female students for being all over him ( ... )

Thanks! :)

Being true to oneself is the hardest fucking thing to do. Everyone's trying to get you to believe, act, wear, and look like every fucking body else. If you don't fit what's considered to be "normal" folks are so quick to judge. It's unbelievable!
