Drawing stuff
Just a visual record of where I'm at.
So, starting with the last drawing post, late on the Sunday I mucked around doodling, only thing I'm half-way happy with is this girly-ass:
Next day, couldn't find my pencil (yes, I only had one), so coloured pencil, Steven Strait.
Original is here. It's a bit off, torso slightly too long, but mostly, the legs are too small. That guy's thighs... !
So, Tuesday? My first face... *embarrassment*. Guess the subject? Yeah, I got a long way to go...
Uh, that was better than my second, bigger attempt though. Guess who this was supposed to be?
Ummm, there's a reason it's only showing the top-half, because it all went horribly wrong round the mouth and chin.
Wednesday: I'd got out a book of old photos from the LAPD archive. Crazy retro scenes and noir-looking cops (and lots of dead people). I tried doing the drawing practice thing where you draw an outline without looking at the paper at all, and then ended up shading them in. Kinda funky looking, but in an interesting way.
The girl was prettier in the photo, and the creepy guy was, no really, just that creepy, but older looking. The jaw is kinda wrong.
On Thursday, I actually went to an art supplies store and got me a pencil sharpener (notice the drawings get progressively darker? Yeah, that was why...), 3 pencils and a couple of rubbers (US = erasers?). Whee!
I tried drawing some guy out of a magazine at a cafe, but had to leave before I was finished. I'm really proud of it though, because wow, the improvement versus, well, a week before! Oh, and thought to myself that I'm getting 'much better resolution' out of this pencil thing (kinda hard to see in photo). ;) *isgeek*
And then I didn't do anything til Sunday, when a friend was all 'draw me!' at a cafe. My first 'from life' attempt, and yeah, turned out horribly wrong, which is why I have no fear of people recognising him from this drawing. ;P
No, he's not a freak, I just drew him with a GIANT ear and nose, all out of proportion. o_O
I'm such a slack ass. If I was spending more than 10 minutes at a time, I think I might actually be getting somewhere.
Umm. What else?
Oh yeah, if anyone's still reading, I actually have a legitimate excuse to ask for porn! *laughs*
I really don't have much of a collection of boy-porn pics, but having things to draw off would be neat, so any recs would be appreciated?
I'm not sure what I'm looking for exactly, but kinda similar to the three guys I've already drawn. Basically, not too weird light, being able to see slight shadows helps, not too muscled, not too thin. And even the cheesy/porn amateur stuff looks far classier drawn.
