Drawing Update

Day before yesterday:

A face. Er, well, it looks like a face so not a complete failure. Just, completely unlike what I was drawing. :P

So, I started drawing Dean in profile, from that bit on the bridge in the pilot, and I'm not so happy with Dean, but then I just kept drawing and ended up doing Sammy too, right over my earlier magazine guy sketch. D'oh. Sammy I like. It's rough, but more realistic looking. Doesn't quite have his right lipped expression but oh well. Something about the drawing strikes me as 'Robin'-ish. The way the shadow looks kinda like a mask. Dean's left hand I like.

Today:
5-10 minute sketches. Practice will make perfect, right? Or uh, not. Whatever.

DA Alec. The spine is slightly off angle at the top of the curve. So that's why the neck looked wrong.

Still, noticing more things I can do, like use a rubber just to lighten spots. Kinda neat. And I've made at least two weeks without dropping this altogether, so woo.

(Note to self: Not been trying to write, but when I do - why is it almost always 3rd person objective? Ok, so I'm the camera or whatever, but it sucks out loud. It's all just talky-talky, conversation and facial expressions and bad. I'm not looking at it right, wrong angle, no detail/shading.
What's the difference in my headspace between doing that, and the occasional things I've done that were first person/omniscent? How do I switch?)
