i just beat the crap out of my answering machine. does anyone know if they make an answering machine that connects to your pc so you can save all your messages as mp3 (or similar)?
tape or digital AM? I assume digital since you'd know how to do copy the tape ones to your PC...
But yes, it is possible...or so I've theorized...it goes something like this...
Go to the (EVIL!!!) radioshack. They make a little device that allows you to hook your telephone up to a tape recorder in order to take phone conversations. You SHOULD have a way to call your machine and listen to the messages over the phone. Instead of hooking it up to a tape recorder, though, hook it in to the audio line jack on your PC.
I've been meaning to try that out for Rob's AM for years, but never got around to it. Let me know if it works.
i was under the impression you wanted to backup your already recorded messages on the old machine.
If you just want a new machine, yes, I'm pretty sure they make such things these days. Or at least something that will make it easier than what I said above.
