Personality: Cocona is a spunky eleven year-old, who was taken in by Croix two years ago, when she lost her parents in an IPD outbreak. For the most part, she tends to be cheerful and energetic, seeing Croix as effectively an older brother, tagging along with him for a majority of the game, ever since the attack on the Rakshek Resort. Cocona, in fact, even learned combat from him, and received her weapon, which could be disguised as hairclips, from Croix as well. She dislikes being treated as a baby, despite her age, and gets annoyed when anyone refers to her in such a manner, something Croix points out to Jacqli. In fact, she considers herself as being as capable as people twice her age, combat or otherwise; given that she is skilled in combat, despite being a Reyvateil, this is actually fairly true.
At first, Cocona isn't known to be a Reyvateil; being a Third Generation IPD Reyvateil, it was entirely possible that she could have lived as an ordinary human, as Third Generations don't always manifest their Reyvateil heritage, and certainly at least not until they reach their late teens or even their twenties. This chances, however, when she suffers an outbreak of IPD Disease, while the party travels through the Ironplate Desert, showing symptoms of up to Level 7, which, as the highest level is 9, is pretty high, not to mention unusual for someone so young.
Despite Croix's best attempts, when the Grand Bell arrives, initially looking for Lady Cloche, Cocona is taken away to the IPD Labs in Pastalia, presumably where she may have possibly been experimented on. She's later rescued by Croix and company, however, during the battle between the Grand Bell and Sacred Army. Her heritage as a IPD Reyvateil also comes into play later on, when she and Amarie chase Chester into Lakra's labs, and it's shown how IPD Reyvateils are connected, with Cocona saying the same things as Lakra at the same time, unconsciously aware of doing such.
Cocona is considerably close to Croix, both in the sense of their sibling bond, despite not being blood related, and because he took her in. She wants to do her best to help him out whenever she can, and even asks at one point if it would be better if she was a Reyvateil, so she could craft Songs to help him out even better, since they're so closely related. When Frelia sings HAIBANATION, causing the IPD Reyvateils to collapse as a result of Lakra hacking into Infel Phira to delete their Binary Fields during the process, a weakened Cocona tells Croix to go with Jacqli's plan of Diving into Cocona's Cosmosphere to break through her Boundary Gates to stop Lakra, despite the risk it placed on both hers and Croix's lives.
Despite her usual cheerfulness, however, because of her awakening as an IPD Reyvateil, and the hatred of the people towards IPDs, Cocona expresses her concerns about the future and her life when Croix enters her Cosmosphere, wondering if there's any reason for living.
"Hated, feared by people... Shot with a neutralizer, quarantined, and deleted. Where's the meaning in our lives? Are we... unwanted children of this world?"
Croix manages to convince her to live on, though, and when Cloche sings METHOD_IMPLANTA/., she wakes up in perfect health, rebounding back to normal.
Cocona tends to be fairly curious about things, like a lot of children her age, and also eventually expresses a desire to want to know what lies beyond Metafalss. She likes cute things, Gergo products especially, and ends up making a friend out of a fellow Gergo enthusiast, Cloche, due to it. In the end, Cocona is a strong-willed girl, who, despite her age and being a Reyvateil, is still headstrong and dedicated to helping out Croix, while retaining her childlike curiosity and cheerfulness, against the odds.
Powers & Abilities: Cocona is an IPD Reyvateil, and, while being too young to actually craft Song Magic, can create a small fireball to attack with, the most basic form of Song Magic all Reyvateil know.
Cocona also has symptoms of the Positive form of IPD Disease, up to level 7 (the highest level is 9)
What items will they be bringing with them? Her clothing, her baton weapon (which can be worn as hairclips when not in weapon form), and... that's about it.
Third-Person Sample: Cocona didn't understand why Lady Cloche and Miss Luca couldn't get along, half of the time.
One minute, they were arguing over Croix; the next, it was over Lady Cloche's political views as a Maiden. Back and forth, back and forth... Cocona was kind of glad she didn't have to deal with these sorts of issues herself, but at the same time, did feel sorry for Croix.
"Lady Cloche and Miss Luca are at it again..." she remarked to Soope, who only offered a sympathetic 'puu' in return. It was weird, how Miss Luca could understand Soope, yet not the rest, but so as long as Miss Luca could understand him, it was alright. Soope had been helpful enough so far, anyway. "I wonder how long they'll keep it up this time... where'd Cro go, anyway?"
Another 'pu'. Well, asking Soope wasn't going to do any good. And... technically, wasn't everyone supposed to be asleep, too? Arguably, Cocona couldn't necessarily sleep while Luca and Cloche argued, but where was Croix to stop their bickering? If he managed to sleep through this... well, Cocona was impressed with her 'big brother', to say the least. Then again, maybe he had gotten used to this by now- it did seem like Miss Luca and Lady Cloche would argue at the drop of a pin, after all. She didn't know how they found the strength to keep always disagreeing with each other, to be honest; they were all in this together, to create Metafalica, so...
Well, it probably was no use trying to dwell on it, in the end. This was probably one of those things Cocona was too young to understand, about boys and politics and all those other seemingly adult matters. She'd just have to ask Amarie in the morning, before they departed to their next destination.
First-Person Sample: Wow... this place is almost as bad as the slums! But I get the feeling I'm not on Metafalss anymore.
