With the temperature cooling and the Light Rail opening up in Phoenix this December, I'm thinking of buying a bike to leisurely get around on. I'm not too sure what kind to get. I'm thinking of a standard mountain bike that's not too expensive. Any thoughts?

Visit my boys at Adventure. Back in the older days, Raleigh sold this kick-ass bike called the SC-7. Super-simple, comfy and cheap ($300).

Then again, if you want to a fly mama, you could go for one of the awesome Spot Brand commuter bikes: 3 speeds, carbon belt drive, handmade, gloriously beautiful and about $2,000.

Adventure is just east of Gilbert and Baseline next to a middle eastern restaurant. Talk to the 45-ish guy with the beard. That's Bill, and he was at the wedding so you know he's among my finest and most long-standing homies.
