1. I know what I want to do with my life. I'm just not brave enough to try.

2. You seem very self-aware and very capable, which I think are rare and admirable qualities.

3. I don't really understand/share your love of academia, so I find that interesting.

4. Every once in awhile when I'm disgusted with some awful schmaltzy ad or movie, I remember looking at you at night under the lanterns, and the time you made me dance with you in the middle of the shopping mall, and I remember that real romance exists.
