Something that may help you analyze the album a bit better is that the bassist Pete Wentz is the writer for the band, while Patrick Stump does a lot of the instrumental arrangements. Wentz is infamously fucked up and emo; for example, "7 Minutes in Heaven" from Under Cork Tree is about his suicide attempt. Stump (imho) is an amazing musician, and is the genius behind all the music you hear. I haven't listened to this album yet, so I don't have the liner notes to back that up, but that's what it's been in the past.

Also, FOB is the reason Panic exists on a mainstream level, they're signed to FOBs label. So if anything, Panic sounds like FOB.

Aye, I've heard the 7 minutes in heaven deal before. But yeah, the singing and the arangments really are the best part of this album, but once you listen to it you'll know what i mean about FOB sounding like Panic. Now its time for me to go back to not sleeping.

PS I learned today from the History Channel that hell was actually made up by Dante, completely. Lawl.

Someone needs to listen to Take this to your Grave darling. This album is actually a perfect mix of there growth into more "refined" music and their original sound. Panic again....came second as Patrick produces their music.

I think eventually FOB and Panic are going to make passionate messy love with each other. And then give birth to something even more grotesque.
