Hey, everyone! I'm putting this post here because I didn't feel like continuing to spam plurk forever. x3 So here is my account of last night!

So first, a little background. Saturday night I'm in a little bit of a funk, and I'm wandering back from the Student Union after improv practice. I had stopped to chill with some other members of the improv troupe in Crossroads, so it was now roughly midnight. I only stopped in Devon to make some copies so I could (theoretically) start grading the next day (nope, still haven't started). As I'm walking past the billboard, I notice something:

Oh. Oh hell yeah.

Now here's the thing. At this point, it's about midnight, so the very start of the 23rd. The show is the evening of the 24th. I have no car or license, and the show is in Oklahoma City. I have less than 48 hours to get tickets, and get a ride.

CHALLENGE ACCEPTED.

Within two hours I had purchased tickets, found a ride, and gone to sleep. I am a boss.

Fast forward to Monday! Monday was crazy busy. I tried to wake up at 7:00 AM, failed, dragged myself out of bed at around 8:00 AM, made it to my 8:30 class five minutes late and without a shower. From there, I grabbed breakfast at Crossroads, then went to my Honors advising appointment at 11:00. Got advised (long story short, I'mma graduate this semester). Then I had office hours at noon. After that, I went up to my office, worked until 2:20, at which point the fire alarm goes off. At this point, I decide it's a good time to go get lunch. Get lunch, continue working. Go to my 4:00 meeting with my professor, and then head back to my apartment. At this point, the only thing between me and the show is a shower, and cooking dinner for myself and soonerbee.

Oh, and an impromptu phone call with dad. Oops.

Amry finally shows up at around 5:30, at which point I've only just got the chicken in the oven. I ask her to watch it while I go shower. Get out of the shower, and the chicken's still cooking. Not really that big of a surprise, given that it was frozen to begin with. The chicken finally gets all cooked by 6:30 - and keep in mind, we're supposed to meet Brian and Carleigh (our ride) across campus at 7:45. Still, shouldn't be a problem, right? Chop the shallots, saute them with the garlic, and go to add the cream to the sauce--

... huh. The cream should probably pour out of the container, shouldn't it. Oops. I make a last minute shift to spaghetti and marinara sauce. Unfortunately, this setback means the food isn't ready until 7:20 or so. We're out the door by 7:30, though, so it works out. We meet up with Brian and Carleigh only five minutes late - and Brian is playing Magic when we get there, of course. Figures. In any case, we are on the road by 8:10.

The drive there is uneventful, other than passing the place the first time. The thing is, Brian, the only one of us that has been to this place before, wasn't paying attention, and the rest of us were expecting something like a well-lit bar or club, not an unlabeled, unlit, all black hole in the wall. Yeah, it was a little sketchy.

In any case, we finally got in at around 8:50, with the show supposed to start at about 9:00. Turns out the opening act was on stage currently, and furthermore, it was actually an improv group. Which is to say, two of the guys that started OU Improv, of which I am now a member. Small world. Er, state.

So they do a little improv nerdcore rap (yes, that's a thing, and I need more of it in my life). Then the guitarist (stage name Black Lotus, pretty bitchin') does a set of his own work. And then the main show: MC Frontalot himself.

Entertaining as hell to watch.

The show was friggin' awesome. There's not really a whole lot of detail to get into about the show, other than I loved it, and I would do it again in a heartbeat. I don't care if I only got six hours of sleep - hell, that was more than I expected to get! It was an awesome time, and I can't wait for another chance to do it again. Oh yeah, also, I now own his entire discography. Autographed.

Awww yeah.

Good times were had by all.

(Those of you interested in my LP still, sorry! Too busy lately for video games. Also... Mother 1 is dull. >>;; I'll get to it eventually.)
