Congratulations on entering your quarter life crisis. Mid-20s, while not bad, suck in comparison to the early 20s, when you were in college, had time and energy to do stuff during the work-week, and everything was just more fun.

A good friend of mine was in a similar place to you a few years ago. Just were out of law school, working soul-sucking jobs, and he had just ended a long-term relationship. 3 years and 2 job changes later, he's engaged to someone awesome, likes his job, and has survived the quarter life crisis. Or he drank the upper-middle class educated white male kool aid. At some point, it just clicks and you get used to this stage in your life and you can find the good in it.

Good luck to you. You'll get through this.

It's like you get away from Tech and find out that you carry it with you

It turns out that's not entirely a negative thing. Weirdly I find that I am now the guy who wants to get things done in some goof-off circumstances.

hey evan. i have nothing encouraging to say in response to your post, because i haven't really figured out what i want from life or my career, either! i think we're mentally probably in the same place, even though our circumstances are different. but i did want to say that you are a good writer, and i wish i could put my thoughts into a post as cohesive as this one was. also, i found the title of your post hilarious, even if you didn't mean it to be. and bonus points to you for the high fidelity quote.
