I had Keith as my teacher for the past two times at iac, but i was wondering if i should switch this year.

And then there's Scott and Kim who switch off in the middle usually. I've had them for the past two years. Scott is pretty well known but a little out there. He's sort of in a constant out-of-body experience, so you sort of have to remind him of what ur working on and kind of set ur own goals. I've mostly done timpani with him and I've improved a lot because of it. And Kim is a good all around teacher. Both are VERY nice. I'd suggest them.
You said u got into orchestra, right? What did you do for your audition tape?

I did:
-the Mayazumi xylophone concetino but on marimba
-#4 of Cirone's portraits in rhythm
-and the third of the Vic Firth solo timpanist book
I didn't want to send my tape in too late so I chose somewhat simple pieces for sd and timp so that I had the time to work em out. And i basically have no access whatsoever to timps so I had to work out a whole thing with my teacher... ehhhhh yeah i'm happy it's all over. how bout yourself?
