So the dreaded Architectural Committee of our housing association sent out a letter telling everyone they'd be "walking around looking for standards violations." Yesterday was a weird day. We're trying to gather some momentum for the next project at work, but everyone's so exhausted from our first effort that it's hard to jump right in and start again. The Vegas Four, a.k.a. BriDawg, Edouardinho, the Mad #@$!ing Hungarian, and I, went to see Iron Man after work today. Since it was Edouardinho's first day of (long-deserved and much needed) vacation, he made a special trip into the city to see it with us. It's my birthday! tmkr, passarinha and edouardinho took me out to dinner at the Grand Cafe, and it was phenomenal. It had a very wild atmosphere, highlighted by very high ceilings, outlandish papier-mache-looking chandeliers, and utterly bizarre sculptures. Case in point:

So our chorus had our 2008 Advance this weekend, and it was phenomenal. We got our butts kicked by our performance coach, including significant changes to our front-row choreography (backflips, anyone?). Interesting times, especially since we put the package on the contest stage in less than two weeks!
