Tech Tuesday: Adaware & Spybot

Whenever someone buys a new Windows PC or asks me if I might know how to fix theirs, there are three free things that I consider must-haves:

1. Firefox browser. I might do an updated Favorite Add-Ons post later.

2. Ad-Aware - Searches and removes advertising, data-mining, and tracking junk you picked up on the web.

3. Spy-Bot Search & Destroy

#2 and #3 are Windows only.

Personally, I prefer Opera to Firefox, but I agree that either is miles better than IE.
