I feel like my decision to quit my job came at a really opportune time to help support the presidential choice I believe this country desperately needs. My newly-retired mother-in-law is, as she says, "a big honkin' Democrat," and she picked up volunteer applications for both of us from the Chattanooga Dem headquarters the other day. Her thought was exactly the same as yours -- Getting people to the polls, even if it means driving them herself.

I'm curious what your primary reasons are, if you're inclined to share?

My view on that is not so much keeping McCain out of office, it's keeping Palin out. Should anything happen to McCain [and his health/age certainly don't inspire confidence], she'd be president,and I think that's what's frightening people tthe most.

McCain would have more supporters if he'd chosen a better running-mate methinks.

This American Life is the best ever, seriously. I especially love the Mortgage stuff they've done recently, as I work for one of the biggest mortgage companies in the country. I can already smell the lay-offs ;_; but luckily I'm a "bargain" as my boss puts it, I'm only a temp, and a skilled one at that, so I'm safe for now.

And also: Obama, FTMFW. That is all.
