Food OCD

I have a weird thing about repetitive food. When I make a meal I like, I tend to eat it a lot in a row. For example, I bought a sack of frozen fish to have on hand and bake a fillet once a month, or less, it's so rare I even like fish. Practically never, right ( Read more... )

I get that about certain things too. Mostly a food 'type'.
Like seriously, I've been eating so many fried things lately. :( Not good for weight or health, but I can't stop.

Also, we've been eating chicken like mad. Mostly cause it's hella cheap here.

There's also this really good chicken caesar salad that I could eat everyday if I was living by myself (recipe via Jamie oliver).

But they are phases. After a while I won't eat that stuff anymore, and I'll be in a new phase.

Nope, I'm like that too. I'd say "I don't think it's odd" except that multiple people have told me it is, so hey. I figure as long as the nutrients are reasonably balanced, who cares?

ETA: today I've eaten 6 satsumas. I'm thinking about having a couple more. Maybe it's National Citrus for Spree-Mealers Day.

For several years, film director David Lynch used to go to Bob's Big Boy every day at the same time and would have a cup of coffee and a chocolate shake. Charles Schulz, the Peanuts comic strip creator, had the same breakfast (english muffin with grape jelly) and lunch (tuna salad) every single day.

I'll also eat the same thing for every meal for long periods of time -- it's easier to plan meals. I recall eating green beans and a hamburger patty with ketchup for nearly even meal for a couple of years.
