i live in ST. LOUIS, danny, what did you expect. but seriously, you live in a state with no mlb, you can support whatever team you want, why would you support the cubs? can they provide you with any world series glory? no.
Just because the great state of South Carolina is not home to any MLB baseball teams does not mean that I can support whatever team I want. The team I support is the Braves. Geographically, I am bound to support them. as are residents of all neighboring states to GA, the exception being FL, which has two crappy teams to choose from.
Also, the Cubs epitomize the spirit of baseball. Wrigley field, Harry Carey, and the simple fact that they haven't won a world series should count for something. Also, mom is from Chicago and my family going back generations were all cubs fans. so there's that.
And as far as you're being a Cardinals fan, that does not mean you should hate the cubs. You could have some division loyalty, at least. I'm rooting for the Phillies and the Cubs, even though the Phillies rubbed out the Braves.

We can still be friends though.
