Funny politician pics.

I've noticed that one thing CNN does on their site is have pictures of the candidates that are the least flattering. Most are just still frames while they are talking. Not all of them are silly, though most are. Whether or not it shows bias...I don't know. but I'm going to go ahead and post them here, with analysis...of sorts.

Oh, there's no doubt there's bias in the selection of photos. I know from experience that at a political speech or debate, a single photographer will take hundreds of photos. If there's ever an unflattering picture it was deliberately chosen as such, there is no doubt whatsoever of that fact.

As an example, look back at all the pictures of G.W. that have ever appeared in newspapers. I'm not saying that I'm a fan of G.W., but they ALWAYS choose those stupid "mid-sentence" pictures which I think reflects poorly on the papers. It's shows an utter lack of decorum on the part of the editors.

In contrast, look at Bill Clinton. Just TRY to find a bad picture of him. It goes beyond merely being photogenic. A competent photographer can make anyone look great and a journalistic should go out of his way to find some sort of neutrality.

The picture of Ron Paul -- I deeply suspect they may have chosen it because he has the same posture and countanance of a mob boss being lead out of a courtroom by his lawyers and surrounded by a flock of

you're totally right about G.W. and Clinton.

and I'm glad you enjoyed it. If I can find more funky political photos, then maybe I can breathe some life back into this lifeless online journal.
