I am relieved to hear that you are doing well. I hope that by the time this letter reaches you that is still the case. Please forgive my lack of communication; things have been hectic around here. We are all adjusting as well as can be expected, but the change to the timeline has affected each person in a different way. So that you know, your friend Ears is safe; he is in and out here at Torchwood on a regular basis with Jack.
I'm certain you're curious to know about Jack. I wish I had better news, but I can't give it without making it a lie. When he returned from the Valiant, he was not well. The Doctor is here and is helping in his recovery, but the process is a gradual one. I'm afraid I have no idea when he might summon the nerve to visit you, but he has asked and I've explained your absence to the best of my ability. However, there are some things I cannot tell him of the entire year. I don't feel he could handle it. I hope you'll understand and forgive me that.
I've saved the PINpoint coordinates and will try to visit before your due date. In the meantime, I wish you the best.
