Hey, thanks for the pointers around town! I think we covered about everything listed: castle (outside), Royal Mile, Grass Something, school from book (outside), grave of doggy (outside), shoes. Apologies for my complete inability to comprehend directions.

Apologies for the over-enthusement; there's so much to see here that I suffer from local-knowledge-overload whenever anyone asks me something. I should really make up questionnaires or something...

"Which of the following are you most keen on enjoying while in Edinburgh:
a) Architecture
b) History
c) Shopping
d) Shoes"

...and then make selected recommendations based on that. Attempting to condense the city into a day-trip for someone whose tastes I'm not familiar with, while they're holding a rapidly liquidising ice-cream, is probably not a good idea.
