Moar LARPing!

Nov 26, 2009 00:00

Last weekend, I finally managed to make it to one of those freeform events ubiquitous_cat is always recommending to me; specifically, Curious Consequences, a LARP convention held somewhere in Dorset, and I had a *fantastic* time. Everyone was welcoming and fun (and I've made a load of new friends - special shout-outs to fractalgeek for the lift to London, and castorlion for the TWHRead more... )

Shucks indeed! *blushes*

If it weren't for the fact that I would inevitably be made wear a pink wig, I'd be totally up for a convention!

Sorry to hear about the driving lessons, but it sounds like the right decision.

Games:
  • Come to "Peaky", and write a freeform in a weekend - and play two others. Turn up Friday, write all Saturday, run yours & play the others Sunday. Chill Sunday night if you can stay on. 14th-16th May 2010. Diamond Geezers, Victoria Junction and Veterans Day all started there.

  • The female waitlist for Sharp and Sensibility is at zero. February 26th-28th 2010 at Retford, a weekend-long Regency game.

  • Both will have many lovely people, a large number who you will have met at Consequences.

I'm very tempted by Peaky, I have to say. Geezers and Victoria Junction were both great games with really tight writing.

Sharp sounds like it'll be great, but I'm not sure I'll be ready for it - I'm only getting back to Edinburgh on February 9th, and I'll need to sort out a flat and relocate all my stuff. As well as not having worked for three months and having no money:(

Peaky is cheap. Game sales (and Consequences) subsidise it deliberately.

Was great to meet you at Consequences!

Let me know if you are ever down in my neck of the woods (west of London), I'm sure Castorlion and I can rustle something fun up for an evening!
