Jack had deposited Ianto and Banon on the doorstep of the hut as promised. With a joke about groping as the bar keys were returned to Ianto and a quick kiss to see Jack off, Ianto turned to the door of the hut and took a deep breath

Knowing that Ianto was in Jack's capable hands, Charlie had fallen asleep curled in the middle of the bed, but she'd have to have been dead not to be woken by the caterwauling that was going on in the main room of the house. She appeared in the doorway, stripped to her panties and tank-top, red hair sleep tousled, rubbing one eye with her fist.
"Jeez, baby," she said, stifling a yawn. "Somethin' burnin' down?"
Having made it to her bed, Banon heaved a sigh as she lay down and rested her head on her paws.
"Nothing burning," he promised, striding (somewhat) over to her. "S'more important. You're gorgeous, you know that? Absolutely gorgeous," he babbled as he reached her, arms slipping around her waist as he carefully fell to one knee.
"Yes," he confirmed with a sloppy nod. "Yes, more than a little. But that's not important," he said, reaching up to take one of her hands in his. "S'not important. What important is, I love you. I love you so much, you know that?"
One of the small blessings of living in a hut on a generally unadvanced island paradise was a lack of windows. Ianto'd had it in his mind to barter for some glass windows someday, but as he rolled over that morning in the blissful cool of a dark room, Charlie's warm body beside him and an absolutely pounding headache working on the inside of his skull, he decided ''some day'' should stay far away.
Groaning softly, mouth feeling disgusting and dry, Ianto blindly found his way to the crook of Charlie's neck, pressing a kiss there. "You awake?" he tried.
Never good at mornings, Charlie groaned and pushed her hand through Ianto's hair, cradling him against her and smiling just a little bit at the memory of last night.
The smile froze though, at the realisation of what had to be coming next, no matter what he'd said.
Charlie sighed elaborately, but she gently disengaged herself from him too. On the cabinet beside the bed, there was a gourd and some cups and Charlie poured a glass and held it out to him.
