Hey.

I made an earlier version of this and deleted it. I have too much to say; I have nothing to say. I am so scared. I have not been so scared since 9/11. I have been crying since Tuesday night. Wednesday on the subway every face I saw was still and grey.

*Hugs* and ♥. It's awful, and terrible, and yeah, when my country mainstreamed racists and elected them to the Parliament, that didn't go away. Today's independence day and I'm afraid to look at the news. Global turn to the right, to nationalism, to hate is terrifying, unacceptable and a danger to all of us.

It seems unbelievable that 53% of American white women would vote this way. I literally can't believe it. How is it possible. :(

One thing I can say - Polish women's movement is almost non-existent, and yet when our minuscule reproductive rights were recently attacked directly, the mobilisation was heartening and huge, and cross-generational, and scared politicians (at least for a moment). American progressives can do even more, and I hope the resistance will be effective.

(I'm scared of Trump for myself, and for my students' sake. I teach students from Ukraine, and for them it's no small difference whether Russia feels completely at liberty in our area of the world.)
