Where are we? In Chantilly.
What has been going on? Lots, actually.
Little Amy had her first birthday on Dec 15th. We invited a few friends over (Timms, Zinns, and Deans), had dinner and cake. Then the girls had their Dr appointment to get caught up on shots and get their prechool health forms filled out. The very next day (Friday Dec. 19th) we headed out for Christmas vacation in new Hampshire.
dlatimer had a meeting the day before, so we picked him up at some random mall in New Jersey where his coworkers left him. It made for a strange fun side trip. We stayed in a hotel that night and finished the drive Saturday morning.
New Hampshire and the region had just finished getting the worst ice storm in 100 years, so there were tons of trees down and tons of people without power, including Nana and Grandpa. So the plan changed from staying with them to staying with
dlatimer 's sister. It all worked out. The girls got *tons* of presents from Santa, including a tricycle, scooter, dollhouse, cabbage patch kids, etc, etc. Wow!
The drive back took forever due to lots of traffic on the roads. The girls were angels, and we watched Kiki's Delivery Service about 5 time on the portable player. Whatever keeps them happy for that long in a car!
This past Monday we went to a Hannukah party at Kay's and making a Costco run, Tuesday was spent getting Amy's flu shot, dropping off preschool papers, going out to dinner and letting
dlatimer get his nails professionally done. Wednesday I went to the grocery store and we had fondue for New Year's Eve dinner. I also finished a book! My one and only book for 2008. Yesterday we hosted a New Year's brunch, and had Kay w/ kids and Anne and Chris w/kids over. Whew! Today we are going to go up to Reston Town Center to see what that's all about as a little adventure.
