What is this item ? A cane for walking apparently made by a young boy with nothing to his name but a curious knack for reshaping metals. The dragon head was molded out of cheap, imitation metal, polished and re-sprayed. Feeling itchy down your back but your hands are just not long enough? Pull out the dragon head and the nifty plastic tool attached is perfect for all your scratching needs.
Who owns it? An old grandmother with a limp who has been at the local old folks' home by the sea ever since people could remember. The local kids often scramble to visit her to listen to her retelling folktales of old where though the names are different, they seem centered in a town curiously like their own...
How important is it to the story? Central. The lady won't let a story out of her lips until she's given the cane its daily polishing, and scratched herself with it - very important to get the memory juices flowing.
Genre (type of story you'd put it in): Folktales, slice of life
Other info: Every chapter is a folktale retold, although as they go on, they seem to get muddled. Some appear to be repeated, others with the same characters but disconnected, different stories, most seem to be paralleling the past and the present of this town, perhaps even the future... and always the old grandmother would always stop before she gets to an ending and calls it a night. He is tired, she would say as she strokes the dragon head, he needs to sleep now. He can't tell no more stories tonight. Who is 'he'? Who is she?

Name/Species: Pocky / Poltergeist
What is he/she/it? A pet. The greatest dog, he proudly proclaims to be. The one who ruled the seven seas, the seven heavens and throw in some seven continents. He can't remember when did all that happen though, but he remembered they did happen, and so they did. To him. He has an obsession about posing in front of cameras, despite knowing what it would do to him.
Is it our world or another? Pocky is probably from a parallel universe who accidentally dropped into an old castle of the Victorian period. He loves to add spice to his re-tellings of the past to frightened visitors at night, so one can't be sure. Every story does have him losing consciousness and feeling seasick though.
How relevant is it to the plot? Sidekick.
What is happening in this scene He finds himself trapped in a photo - again!
