Training for the 5K: Day 1.5

I love my new running shoes! I've gone running for the past 2 days. Not very far, but I have training schedule I found online (the author of the info was a former olympic trainer, so I guess he knows what he doing) and it's pretty specific about what to do and how to do it. The one I found is really similar to the one you linked to. It's called 30/30 running and it's a 30 minute walk/run 6 days a week for 30 days. It starts with 10 minutes of walking, then 15 minutes of alternating 30 seconds of running and 30 seconds walking, and finished with 5 minutes of walking. I did this yesterday and it was so easy! The hardest part was keeping the running intervals to just 30 seconds.

If it hadn't been for that one insane winter camp my first year of Master's I would have never ever started. But I'm finding (like so many other people have said--not that I believed them at the time) that running is addicting! And having amazing shoes makes it even more addicting (it's really cool what happens when you have a professional to help find the right pair). And having a beginners guide to running is really helpful too.
