RENNER FEST 2012 FILM CLUB!
INTERNET! You are cordially invited to attend RennerFest 2012 Film Club, a cinematic extravaganza of epic proportions guaranteed to bring you nothing but ~OMG JEREMY RENNER~ feelings, all summer long!
HERE ARE SOME IMPORTANT DETAILS:
Who: Jeremy Renner1 and YOU.
What: 22 Films Starring, you guessed it, Jeremy Renner.
When: This festival runs ALL SUMMER LONG, BABY, starting NOW and continuing on until November (or whenever you feel like ending it-- if you want to rock out to your Renner Film Feels from now until the world ends, my darlings, I support you in that endeavour and love everything you choose to be). Check THE SCHEDULE for specific film dates & details.
Where: WORLDWIDE, from my couch to yours, or wherever you like to watch your movies.
Why: I think Jeremy Renner's face in the graphic above should explain all of your questions. If you still have questions, check the FAQ on this post or just stare at this GIF for about five minutes. I'll wait.
How: As the slogan says: Watch. Swoon. Discuss. IT'S EASY AND FUN. Here's how this works. Once a week, whenever you have time, grab your physical or digital copy2 of the Film of the Week, watch, swoon, and discuss. I'll make a post on Monday of every week in three places: 1) My LJ 2) My DW 3) My Tumblr, with a snazzy graphic for the week's movie, just as a reminder. I'll leave the LJ & DW entries open for comments ~forever~, but don't feel obligated to talk about this there if you don't want to. This is 2012, y'all, we've got OPTIONS, because WE LIVE IN THE FUTURE. So, tweet (you can use the #RennerFest2012 hashtag if you want), text, Tumble (same tag, if you want), assemble friends and sit on your couch and flail, whatever you feel like doing. This is a really open-ended, flexible deal with pretty much only two rules, outlined briefly below. If you want to skip ahead, feel free. If you want to spend an entire week doing nothing but watching all of the films, bless you. If you want to skip a film entirely because it's not your thing, no big. If you want to sit and watch Thor four times in one day just for his 47 seconds, I've been there. It's really up to you!
Rules: My rules are the same as they always are:
01. The Doctor lies. HAVE FUN.
02. BE EXCELLENT TO EACH OTHER.
That's pretty much it. If we can all follow those3, we should get along famously.
Why didn't you make a comm/tumblr/some other platform for this thing?
Well, long story short, I didn't feel like it. This isn't really that kind of thing, it's like, idk, I see it as a virtual party that I'm throwing, and I wanted it to be as flexible as possible for everyone, self included. I want everyone to have as much fun as possible and make this their own, and my gut said that a comm was the wrong way to go.
Can I tell my friends about this?
Please do! The more the merrier! Make graphics, tweet, do your awesome creative thing.
I'm still not sure why you're doing this.
Well, I like Jeremy Renner's face, and I was just having a lot of feelings about it, and I'm a fangirl, and this is how I roll. The state of my Twitterfeed and a couple of flaily posts from friends convinced me that other people were having similar feelings, and then a million* people recced me all these movies of Jeremy Renner's, and here we are. That's pretty much where you came in.
What will we talk about, when we talk about the movies?
Whatever people feel like discussing. It can be substantive and thoughtful, it can be flaily and gif-laden, whatever. I warn you that the former category is Not My Division. ;)

Why did you pick this order for the films?
I didn't. I just pulled them from his IMDB profile, assigned each movie a number, and let the Random Number Generator do the work for me. The only one I picked was The Avengers, for reasons of OH MY GOD IT'S IN THE THEATRES NOW.

1 Obligatory disclaimer #1: Jeremy Renner is in no way involved in this project and will not, sadly, be showing up at your house to watch these movies with you. But if you feel like leaving a chair and some popcorn out for him just in case, you'll get no argument from me.
2 Obligatory disclaimer #2: How you procure these films for viewing is up to you, and though I would dearly love to do so, I can't actually help out with that.
3 Obligatory disclaimer #3: Just a heads-up: not that I think this will be a problem, but Coffeesuperhero's Garden of Earthly Delights is a place of sweetness and light, where we all love each other and hold hands and sing happy songs and all that other hippie shit I believe in, so I reserve the right, on my own entries, to enforce my rules. What you do in your own house, that ain't my business, though.
