Because, you know, manga never really dies,

So, L dies, which I wasn't fond of. I liked L. I hated Raito/Light/Kira. Mello and Near were brought into the picture, and, even though neither of them have the "charisma" that L had, Mello became hot and Near proved himself in the end by outwitting Raito.

EXCEPT!

Apparently this manga doesn't know when it needs to finish.

First time around, with L's death, that would have made for a good--frustrating--ending. Evil triumphs over good. Or, at least, leaves the question "is this really Evil?" But, we can let it go, because, you know... the moral of this story...

But then Near wins. Wins! And wins in a very good way, I might add. Raito dies, insane, alone and by his own method of killing.

So, for God's sake, why are there still more chapters? Do we care that Near might have killed off a person here or there? (Although, I doubt he did.) And is this chick really worth going on? Not to mention, IMO, Near lacks charm. I don't find him interesting. He played his part well, but I don't think he has anything left.

Unless Mello suddenly turns out to be alive.

In which case, hey, shoot out a few more volumes.
