Unless the swamp gases also cause hallucinatory images of friends from back home, I'm pretty sure that according to Occam's razor, that was definitely Emerson who ran right by us.

Well, then we'd better catch up with him before he has a heart attack.

...Though I'm not entirely sure that after we tell him where he is, he won't.

I'll have the smelling salts ready and waiting to be deployed!

I'm sure we'll need them... He'll hate it here. I am not looking forward to this explanation.

I can take over the explanation duties if you'd like. I'll even throw in how the Arts and Crafts hut has a good supply of yarn on hand as a sort of consolation prize.

...Well, I'm sure you'll do an excellent job explaining but it may also be one of those things where Emerson has known me longer and... Well, we can both try?

We can take turns standing up to the assault of sarcastic remarks that are locked on and ready to fire.

Well, it will be more helpful to have you here, backing me up. Otherwise, I'm pretty sure he'd just think I'd gone off the deep end.

Consider me your emergency platoon, ready and waiting to deploy any support that's needed! I'm sure between the two of us we'll manage to verbally wrangle him into understanding the situation.

Well, it's not like we have much of a choice, at any rate.

I wonder if Olive's with him. I mean, I hate the idea of her being all alone at The Pie Hole, even with the flow of time here being completely separate from back home.

I don't see her, and I know she's small, but she's not that small. And anyway, we'd hear her, right? So, I guess she's not here. But she'll always have Pigby, at least?

You're right, and in the end I'd rather she was safe at home with Pigby than stuck here running in terror from the zombie residents of these fair campgrounds.

And she always wears those really tall shoes that wouldn't be much good here. Really, I think it's much better that she's personing the Pie Hole.

Well, I can't think of The Pie Hole being in more capable hands than Olive's!

Do you think Emerson'll want to bunk with us?

Absolutely not.

I mean, he won't want to, and I'm not sure I'd be comfortable with that.
