A perfect vacation has turned into a nightmare

Over a year ago I decided I'd bring my parents on a cruise to Alaska and finally give them an opportunity to travel a little bit which they never really did before as they do not speak english. We spent a wonderful time on Vancouver Island before the cruise but everything collapsed upon our arrival for checking in ( Read more... )

I hate to ever be one to be dishonest but I think in this case your father might have used his own judgment and said no, knowing it was not from the flu.

I am very sorry this happened and very disappointed in the cruise company. You might post the name of the company so it can be avoided in the future.

Yeah, I have to agree with this.
It's unfortunate, but if you know it's unrelated, sometimes you need to lie to avoid the bureaucracy.

I'm sorry to hear that the trip turned out so badly.

Personally I would have lied on the form, especially if you were fairly certain it was caused by something else. Just my 2 cents of course.

Hopefully you can get some compensation for your financial loss.
