Sick dog update (weak stomach warning)

Saturday morning, I follow Rocky around the yard, waiting for him to lift a leg so I can get him to pee in a cup. ::) (Thank you Jesus, that it was too early for all the hung-overs to be up, there were no witnesses ( Read more... )

My Akita/Dane does the same thing every so often. White rice and Pepto works wonders.

And you're sure he didn't find a tasty treat in the yard?

Keeping paws crossed that he's ok!

Hello there!

Thanks for stopping by! As for your question, I go out with him and he's on a leash as I don't have a fenced yard. So, he's monitored and controled pretty much 24/7. Not the most trust worthy dog I've ever had. He does exactly as he pleases when left alone. lol

I just looked at your profile page, you do CUR's too? Cool deal! I just rejoined Boxer Rescue, I was a volunteer several years ago before I moved out of state. I'm back home now and jumped back in shortly after I lost my boxer girl, Stella.

Akita/Dane... now that's gotta be a BIG DOG! :D

Dane's big, blond and dumb so we have lots of sleepless nights after he eats something. Last night caught him eating the wood chips out of the flower bed just for fun, last year he ate the pile of fine, grey dust I shook out of the vaccuum filter.

Rocky's symptoms sound like one of those "it'll run through his system and then be gone" kind of things so hopefully the vet calls to give you good news!

How are you both doing after Stella?

Oh and let me know if you ever move west - we could use more boxer rescue people, ours keep getting burned out!

Updated on Rocky in my latest post. Goofy dog.

Rocky seems to not care that Stella is gone... I, on the other hand, am slowly gathering the pieces of my crushed heart. I miss her so. Just thinking about her too hard makes me bawl. I'd give up just about anything to have her back. :(

I'm not sure that the boxer rescue group I'm with will ever let me move out of state again! lmao! I'm basically the only person the West 1/2 of Kansas that's involved. Which means I have a LOT of land to cover! lol I'll let you know if I ever sneak out that way though! lol

His symptoms are really baffling. Have they checked him for parasites? It could be food poisoning, perhaps from raiding the trash can. Dogs will eat anything. Yuck! The most disgusting thing I ever saw a dog eat was a bucket full of tomato worms.

a bucket full of tomato worms.

OH GROSS!!!!

I'm sure he didn't get into anything. The garbage can is securely behind a door. In fact, his entire enviroment is controlled. He's crated when he can't be watched and the rest of the time, we are aware of everything he does.

He did have his HW cookie about a month ago, HeartGuard, I think it covers most other parasites also since it's ivermectine based, but when I call the vet in the morning, I'll ask them about it.... thanks!

How's your Miko kitty??

The tomato worm incident made the time the dog ate a week old dead pigeon seem almost pleasant.

Miko is still fluctuating, I'm afraid. :(

well, I'm officially off my lunch! lmao!! Dogs seem to find the most horrible things to be so tasty! They either eat it, or wallow in it like pigs in mud! GAH!
