My Dad scared the shit out of me.

Jul 10, 2008 05:11

I had a 2 hour convo with my Dad tonight while driving. He took an anti-terrorism class not long ago with the... THE top expert in the world. Some of the things he told me ...

In a nutshell, we are screwed. SCREWED.

Why? Because this country has its head so buried in the sand about it, we'll never even acknowledge it when it happens.

I know what you mean. It scares me so bad that I literally have to try not to think about it.

(HUGS)

as he told me, "keep your powder dry, the war is coming." Just educate yourself on what to look for, who to look at and read all the books you can on the subject. There is comfort and power in knowledge.

Small town America is in the most danger.

*hugs* I live in the smallest town ever (okay, not ever, but we're pretty damn tiny).

The thought has crossed my mind several times in the past few months when massive amounts of people start getting sick from food supplies. Salmonella in tomatoes (or peppers?), eColi in spinach...

1,000+ people sickened by this most recent thing and those are just the one's who've have been sick enough to go to the doctor and whose doctor reported it!

I drove a truck hauling a lot of produce a few years back, and my husband still drives, though not produce.
We know how the food is handled, and there is no way such a bug could contaminate more than a few plants, which would have to be reasonably close to each other.

I've decided to keep my head in the sand.
That way I can be reasonably happy until the world implodes and takes us all with it.
